Many of the UK team arrived in Orlando, Florida on Thursday 31st July in time for the start of the Championship on Friday August 1st. The UK Masters arrived in the early hours of Thursday time for the Masters seminar that started that day.
The Masters seminar was an intensive day of training covering the finer points of basic technique and Hyung, advanced Ho Sin Sul, Phyung Ill Soo Sik, Jang Bong and ended with special weapons training in the art of Gum Do. This long and exhausting day was truly inspirational, and set the tone for the rest of the Championship.

The evening of this day saw the opening rounds of the Team events (Hyung and Sparring). The day was capped by a special awards banquet. Everybody dressed smartly and enjoyed fine food while Master Joe Goss and Chun Jae Nim C. S. Kim presented awards to worthy members of the ITF.
