The International Tang Soo Do Federation was founded by Master Chun Sik Kim in the Spring of 1984. The goal in the formulation of the ITF was to maintain the high standards of Authentic Tang Soo Do.

The ITF is an organisation of Martial Artists who believe in the preservation of traditional values and standards. As President and Founder of the ITF Kwan Jang Nim Chun Sik Kim has appointed a board of directors to assist him in achieving his goals and in maintaining the standards of excellence set forth by the Federation and its leadership. Each member Master Kim has appointed is a Master of superb technical ability with a deep spiritual commitment to the preservation of traditional Tang Soo Do.

The International Tang Soo Do Federation has instituted a program of guidelines and standardisation to maximise the benefits of all practitioners. The standardisation covers not only the technical aspects of Tang Soo Do, but also the methods of instruction as applied  by each ITF registered and certified Kyo Sa Nim (Instructor) World Wide.

Standardisation and consistency allow the students ease of training at any ITF Do Jang while visiting other regions or cities. This also ensures that for generations to come, Tang Soo Do will be taught in its original form.

The ITF is represented in numerous countries across the globe. Membership of the ITF is personally vetted and approved by Master Kim, after verification that the organisation / schools meet the high standards demanded by Master Kim.
